How to use the wheel

  1. Type your entries in the box, one per line, or pick a preset such as Yes or no, Coin flip or What to eat.
  2. Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter. The wheel slows down and stops on the winner.
  3. In the result window, keep the winner on the wheel or remove it, so you can draw the next one without repeats.
  4. Copy the share link to send the same wheel to friends, or open full screen to show it on a big screen.

Your entries, settings and the list of results are saved in this browser, so the wheel is still there when you come back.

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen before the wheel starts moving, with your browser's cryptographic random number generator (the same kind used for passwords and security keys), not with a predictable formula. The spin you see is only the animation that shows the result.

Every entry has exactly the same chance unless you give it a weight. Numbers are drawn without the small bias that simple random code can have, and where the wheel stops inside a slice is random too, so the pointer never gives the result away early.

A weight such as “Pizza *3” counts that entry three times: its slice is three times as wide and it is three times as likely to win. The chance of each entry is shown next to it in the list.

Ideas for your wheel

  • Pick a winner for a giveaway or a raffle among your followers.
  • Choose a student to answer, or split a class into teams.
  • Decide who goes first in a game, or who does the dishes tonight.
  • Settle what to eat, which film to watch or where to go this weekend.
  • Make a quick yes or no decision when you cannot make up your mind.

Private by design

The wheel runs entirely in your browser. Your entries are not sent to our server or stored in an account. A share link carries the entries after the # sign of the address, a part that browsers never send to a website, and they are shown only as plain text.

FAQ

Is this spin the wheel free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up and no limit on spins. It works on phones, tablets and computers.

Can the result be rigged?

No. The winner is drawn with your browser's cryptographic random generator before the wheel moves, and every entry has the same chance unless you add a weight yourself. Nobody, including us, can steer the result.

How many entries can I add?

Up to 200. With many entries the slices get thin, so the names are shortened on the wheel, but the full name always appears in the result.

How do I remove a name after it wins?

When the result appears, press “Remove from the wheel”. The winner is taken off the list, so the next spin picks someone else. This is handy for raffles with several prizes.

How do I give one entry a better chance?

Add a star and a number after it, for example “Pizza *3”. That entry then counts three times. Weights from 1 to 100 are accepted.

Can I share my wheel?

Yes. Press “Copy share link” and send the link. Whoever opens it gets the same entries on their own wheel. Very long lists are shortened so the link still works.
