Best widget apps for Android in 2026: which one fits you?

There is no single best widget app: it depends on what you want on your home screen. Here are five popular Android widget apps, what each one is built for, and who it suits. A note first: Wadiget is made by us, Tutkem Studio. Every other app is described from its own Google Play listing, as fairly as we can.

1. Wadiget: ready-made widgets, Arabic and Islamic tools

Wadiget gives you more than 250 finished widgets that you restyle with a live preview: glass, solid or gradient, colours, fonts and up to 10 sizes. It includes prayer times with the Azan, the Hijri date, tasbih, Quran verses, live football, Pomodoro, to-do lists, notes, habits, expenses, photo widgets, weather and 4K wallpapers, in Arabic and English.

Best for: people who want a polished home screen quickly, and anyone who wants Arabic widgets or Islamic tools.

2. KWGT: build any widget yourself

KWGT (Kustom Widget Maker, by Kustom Industries) describes itself as a powerful widget maker: a full editor where you start from a blank canvas or a starter skin and design the layout yourself, with text, shapes, images, layers and touch actions. Its listing also highlights fitness widgets through Health Connect.

Best for: people who enjoy designing every detail. For the difference with ready-made widgets, see our KWGT comparison.

3. Color Widgets: iPhone-style widgets

Color Widgets, by ZipoApps, presents itself as a way to give Android an iOS-style home screen: customizable widgets, themes, fonts, colour schemes and photo widgets with your own pictures.

Best for: people who like the look of iPhone widgets.

4. iWidgets: themes, icons and widgets in one

iWidgets, by AI Photo Team, offers clock, photo, calendar, weather, battery, Bluetooth and event timer widgets in several sizes, along with themes and custom app icons, according to its listing.

Best for: people who want to change icons and widgets together with one theme.

5. Widgetable: widgets you share with friends

Widgetable, by Happeny Technology, focuses on social widgets: you raise virtual pets together with friends, share moods and daily moments, and see updates from your loved ones on your home and lock screens.

Best for: friends, couples and families who want a shared, playful home screen.

How to choose

  • Want it done in minutes? Pick an app of ready-made widgets, such as Wadiget.
  • Want total control? An editor such as KWGT lets you build anything, if you are willing to learn it.
  • Want your phone to look like an iPhone? Choose an app made for that style.
  • Want widgets to share with someone? A social widget app fits best.
  • Need Arabic, Hijri dates or prayer times? Check that the app was designed for Arabic, not only translated.

You can also mix apps: widgets from different apps can share one home screen. Give them similar colours and corners so the screen still looks like one design. See Android home screen ideas for layouts.
