Android home screen ideas: 6 setups you can copy

Looking for home screen inspiration? Here are six setups, from a calm minimal screen to a football fan's matchday screen. Each one lists the wallpaper, the widgets and where they go, so you can copy it in a few minutes.

1. Minimal glass

A soft gradient wallpaper, a large glass clock at the top and one small glass weather widget below it. Keep the rest of the screen empty, with four apps in the dock. Choose light or dark glass to suit the wallpaper.

2. Islamic

A dark wallpaper, a clock with the Hijri date, the next prayer with the time left, a tasbih counter and a verse of the Quran. The full setup is in Islamic widgets for Android.

3. Productivity

Today's agenda at the top, a to-do list you tick from the home screen, a Pomodoro focus timer you start and pause from the widget itself, and a habit tracker with your streaks.

4. Football fan

Live scores and your club's next match, the league table and match alerts. Football widgets are part of Wadiget Pro.

5. Family and memories

A photo widget with your own pictures (a taped print, a row of four or a grid), a countdown to birthdays and events, and sticky notes.

6. Dark and calm

A black 4K wallpaper, dark glass widgets, a tall clock that fills a 2×4 space and a calendar for the month. Easy on the eyes at night.

Tips for any setup

  • Use one style for every widget: the same corners, colours and font.
  • Leave empty space. Three or four widgets are usually enough.
  • Put what you read at the top, and what you tap at the bottom, where your thumb reaches.
  • Choose the wallpaper first, then match the widget colours to it.

Every widget in these setups is in Wadiget, with more than 250 widgets and 70 wallpapers. New to widgets? Start with how to customize your Android home screen.

Questions

How many widgets should I put on one screen?

Three or four is a good start. Leave space between them so each one is easy to read, and use a second home screen if you need more.

Can I use these ideas on Samsung and Xiaomi phones?

Yes. Every setup uses ordinary home screen widgets and works on any phone or tablet with Android 10 or later.
