Samsung Galaxy · 2024 · Older model
The Galaxy Z Fold6 came out in 2024 with two screens: a 7.6-inch inner screen of 1856 × 2160 pixels and a 6.3-inch cover screen of 968 × 2376 pixels. A wallpaper at the full resolution looks clean on it; a larger image only makes the file bigger.

Both screens show the wallpaper at the same size, but different things sit on top of it.

1856 × 2160 pixels for the inner screen and 968 × 2376 pixels for the cover screen: the native resolution of each.
1.16:1. The screen is 1856 pixels wide and 2160 pixels tall, so an image with a different shape is cropped at the edges when you set it.
Yes. A 4K portrait image (2160 × 3840) has more pixels than the Galaxy Z Fold6 shows, so it stays sharp, but its 16:9 shape doesn't match the 1.16:1 screen, so part of it is cropped. Fit it to 1856 × 2160 first to choose what stays.
Usually the image is smaller than 1856 × 2160 or a different shape, so the phone enlarges it to fill the screen. Make it at the exact size with the tool on this page, and start from the original photo, not a screenshot or a copy sent through a chat app.
They have different shapes: 1856 × 2160 (1.16:1) inside and 968 × 2376 (22.1:9) on the cover. A picture made for one is cropped heavily on the other, so make one for each screen, or choose a picture with its subject in the centre.
