The Galaxy Z Flip7 came out in 2025 with two screens: a 6.9-inch inner screen of 1080 × 2520 pixels and a 4.1-inch cover screen of 948 × 1048 pixels. At that density a small image stretched to fit looks soft, while one made at the full resolution stays sharp.

Both screens show the wallpaper at the same size, but different things sit on top of it.
Menu names change a little between software versions. If an option isn't there, open the picture in your gallery app and look for Set as wallpaper in its menu.

21:9. The screen is 1080 pixels wide and 2520 pixels tall, so an image with a different shape is cropped at the edges when you set it.
Yes. A 4K portrait image (2160 × 3840) has more pixels than the Galaxy Z Flip7 shows, so it stays sharp, but its 16:9 shape doesn't match the 21:9 screen, so part of it is cropped. Fit it to 1080 × 2520 first to choose what stays.
Usually the image is smaller than 1080 × 2520 or a different shape, so the phone enlarges it to fill the screen. Make it at the exact size with the tool on this page, and start from the original photo, not a screenshot or a copy sent through a chat app.
They have different shapes: 1080 × 2520 (21:9) inside and 948 × 1048 (1.11:1) on the cover. A picture made for one is cropped heavily on the other, so make one for each screen, or choose a picture with its subject in the centre.
