Apple iPhone · 2026 · Current model
The iPhone Duo came out in 2026 with two screens: a 7.6-inch inner screen of 2670 × 1878 pixels and a 5.4-inch cover screen of 1398 × 2034 pixels. At that density a small image stretched to fit looks soft, while one made at the full resolution stays sharp.

Both screens show the wallpaper at the same size, but different things sit on top of it.
2670 × 1878 pixels for the inner screen and 1398 × 2034 pixels for the cover screen: the native resolution of each.
1.42:1. The screen is 2670 pixels wide and 1878 pixels tall, so an image with a different shape is cropped at the edges when you set it.
Yes. A 4K portrait image (2160 × 3840) has more pixels than the iPhone Duo shows, so it stays sharp, but its 16:9 shape doesn't match the 1.42:1 screen, so part of it is cropped. Fit it to 2670 × 1878 first to choose what stays.
Usually the image is smaller than 2670 × 1878 or a different shape, so the phone enlarges it to fill the screen. Make it at the exact size with the tool on this page, and start from the original photo, not a screenshot or a copy sent through a chat app.
They have different shapes: 2670 × 1878 (1.42:1) inside and 1398 × 2034 (1.45:1) on the cover. A picture made for one is cropped heavily on the other, so make one for each screen, or choose a picture with its subject in the centre.
